The three designs are up. 19"x25" 3 color screen print on grey paper, signed and numbered by Paul Komoda and Christopher Jon. We are only printing 100 of each design. We are going to be taking pre-orders soon. We'd like to start printing in March, and be shipping posters starting April - one design per month (April, May, and June). There will be a package/subscription deal for people who want all three posters.

I'm back from the Android Lust tour, which was awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us!

During that time I was working on the multimedia portion for the new album, and Paul Komoda has been hard at work on illustrations for the album artwork. Things are coming along nicely.

On Saturday, July 14 2007, Justin Butts was killed in a tragic accident while kayaking in Maine. He was 34. Justin was a musician, artist, writer, thinker, general smart ass, and co-founder of I, Parasite - in fact, without Justin, there wouldn't be an I, Parasite. He was a true Renaissance man, and the world is a much lesser place without him. The few years I spent writing and performing music with Justin will always be very important for me.

He was a frighteningly smart individual. And talented. One of my favorite I, Parasite songs, "Slow Pain of Water" was written - words and music - by Justin. Other classic Justin moments include "No Question" (words and music), "Stringladder", and the lyrics to "Piety" and "Brutality". Go listen to them. The last piece of music Justin and I ever created together was the improvised "HostSessions v.1" four part piece - HostSessionsv1.mp3

I dug out a bunch of photos of Justin and I performing. I have a bunch more of us when we lived together, working on Turin, hanging out. I would like to scan and get some of those online too.

Justin and I didn't see each other much after we parted ways, but I miss him. I miss his unique perspective on the world, art, people - everything. Justin was fearless.

That's it really. Justin, we miss you.

As some of you may remember, last year I had intended to release an EP to bridge the gap between my last album, On This Cold Floor, and the new album The Sick Are Not Healing. Due to a really bad financial situation I was forced to shelve the EP until some later date. Now again I find that I cannot finish the new album due to my financial situation being essentially the same, if not worse.

The album is fully mixed and ready for mastering. Once mastered I intend to shop around to some independent labels to see if there's any interest. If so, fantastic. If not, I'll have to self release the album, as I did with On This Cold Floor. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

But before any of that can happen I need to get it mastered. So while I try to scrounge together money here, I'm also asking for any help any of you can offer. I've set up a PayPal donations program, where you can contribute any amount you see reasonable. Everyone who donates will receive a thank you in the album's liner notes (include your name as you'd like to be credited). In addition, anyone who donates $10 or more will simply receive a copy of the album when it is finally available. Be sure to include your shipping address if you wish to donate $10 or more. In that respect you can think of your donation as a very early pre-order.

Also, if I end up signing with a label, I can't guarantee how much the album will cost, so this in essence gives you an opportunity to purchase the album for at least $10, including shipping. I will guarantee that you will receive a copy, even if I need to buy wholesale from the label to make it happen. But I'm getting ahead of myself again!

Trust me I wish I didn't need to do something like this, but I can't bear to shelve yet another release because my personal finances are a total abomination. I need to move I, Parasite forward, and it's been too long since On This Cold Floor.

In good condition. It's been used on gigs, as well as the early I, Parasite albums. It wasn't in a smoke free studio (or clubs) and it has some minor wear and tear. It's in very good working condition except for one thing - when two certain keys on they keyboard are pressed, a third note sounds - this doesn't happen when receiving MIDI to those same notes though. I need to figure out exactly which keys this happens on. Strings and pads sound great on this thing.

It has the JV-SR80 "Dance" expansion board, which has some drum loops and more "dance music" oriented waveforms (a lot of the pads on Turin were made from the waveforms on this card). It also has a V-EXP board (I'm pretty sure it's the VE-JV1), which gives it another 28 voices polyphony and more patches. The V-EXP is like a second synth inside the JV-90 - it has it's own MIDI IN and audio outputs.
price: Prepal.com says it averages for $450 on ebay these days, but I'll do it for $300.

I suppose now is as good a time as any to announce some of the guests:

Bret Calder played all the bass guitar on the album. He's also IP's full time live bassist.

Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, too many other things to mention) has contributed guitar to a song. He's one sick motherfucker.

Colin McKay also played guitar on a song. Android Lust fans would know him from the songs "Sin" (Stripped + Stitched) and "Leave It Behind" (Devour, Rise, and Take Flight).

Lars Hansen (Oneiroid Psychosis) is presently recording a guitar part for me in his studio.

There's one more, but since I don't know yet who the player is, I'll save it for another time.

There are nine tracks in all and the album should clock in around 47 minutes. I have the lyrics and vocals completed for 3 of the 7 songs which have vocals. That leaves just 4 more to go, and I have most of the lyrics written for these already, although I've been constantly reworking and improving the lyrics as I go. I should have a fourth song vocally complete before the weekend. I'm moving at a pretty fast pace (for me, anyway).

Then all that is left are these guest slots. There are several songs where I'm having friends play guitar, or bass, or something else. Scheduling these sessions has been tricky so far since everyone is so freaking busy (myself included), but I'm going to get a bit more aggressive about it once I have all of my vocals done.

One last thing about this album is that it won't be released on DARKVISIONMEDIA - I'm looking to shop it to some sort of real labels for release. I simply do not have the funding to put out albums anymore at the quality level that I expect. So I won't turn away input since I haven't been on a record label since the first two releases.
